A licensing contract is required to use NHK’s patents and know-how in commercial activities, such as the manufacture and sale of products. Technology Transfer  
NHK also offers “Technology Transfer” (based on a separate contract) to customers that are using NHK’s technologies and know-how, and who wish to 
have an NHK R&D Engineer provide direct technical guidance and instruction.
